startActivity跟startActivityForResult又有何不同?

startActivity是個單向開啟的動作，可以透過Bundle傳資料給下一個Activity
但是沒辦法從下一個Activity那邊接收訊息

假如想從新的Activity得到一些資訊, 這時候就能使用startActivityForResult，

使用startActivityForResult的時候，必須複寫Activity的onActivityResult函式才能真的有作用

startActivityForResult除了要傳輸的意圖之外，還要帶一個參數requestCode，這是為了讓接收資料的onActivityResult能夠辨別是哪個Activity回傳的資料，因為我可能一個Activity能夠開啟很多不同的Activity

Today I found our gateway was recorded in the Spam list:CBL, I feel unhappy as I don't know which machine goes wrong.

I found the useful guide from CBL and a link to Wireshark, which is a packet monitoring.

I will try it on my machine and check what is going on in our network.

Apache Mod_Security and XAMPP

終於安裝了mod security!

In order to secure my Apache using XAMPP, I have install the mod_security and disable some php function:

Install mod security on windows:

1. download mod_security2.so at http://www.apachelounge.com/ (a binary package)
2. unzip the package and you will get mod_security2.so and a libxml2.dll
3. read the readme.txt
4. create a folder .../apache2/modules/mod_security2
5. and copy mod_security2.so and libxml2.dll to this folder
6. Install the Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (Since this binary is make my VC++2008)
7. At httpd.conf:
- LoadModule security2_module modules/mod_security2/mod_security2.so
- LoadModule unique_id_module modules/mod_unique_id.so
8. You can using Include directive to include the mod_security configure file,
(you can take a look on this website.)

but I put all the things under httpd.conf , my configure file is found from the package downloaded - mod_security2.conf-minimal
Like this (under httpd.conf):

proc_close,proc_get_status,proc_open,proc_terminate,system"

2. Besides, open safe mode

squidGuard

昨天收到squid-users寄來的一些mail, 網友提到可使用squidGuard來過濾網業。

因為使用debian的關係, 使用apt-get便安裝了, 然後到http://www.squidguard.org
看看相關的安裝程序, 亦非常簡單, 但是不知什麼原因當加入了
redirect_program /usr/bin/squidGuard -c /etc/squid/squidGuard.conf
到squid.conf後, squid硬是不能啟動,
經過一輪的googling及找尋mailing list後, 發現原來要將權限設定好

所有關於squid及squidGuard的檔案權限最好設定為某一使用者(e.g. proxy or squid)
執行檔:
/usr/bin/squidGuard

資料庫:
/var/lib/squidguard/db/*

log file:
/var/log/squid/*

cache file:
/var/spool/squid/

----------------------------------------------------------------------
此外, 當要新加入某些blocklist後,可依執行
squidGuard -C all
來建立資料庫 (需一點時間, 大約1~2分鐘) , 不要忘記將權限設定
chown proxy.proxy /var/lib/squidGurad/db/* -R

作測試的話, 則如下:
echo "http://www.example.com 10.0.0.1/ - - GET" squidGuard -c /etc/squid/squidGuard.conf -d

你可以用一些不穩許的網址作測試。

什麼是 port 呢？常常聽說「我的主機開了多少的 port ，會不會被入侵呀？」或者是說開那個 port 會比較安全？又，我的服務應該對應什麼 port ？怎麼一部主機上面有這麼多的 port 呢？這這些 port 又有什麼作用？

由於每種網路的服務功能都不相同，因此有必要將不同的封包送給不同的服務來處理，所以當你的主機同時開啟了 FTP 與 WWW 服務的時候，那麼別人送來的資料封包，就會依照 port 號碼來給 FTP 這個服務或者是 WWW 這個服務來處理。
有些人會問說：「為什麼電腦同時有 FTP、WWW、E-Mail 這麼多服務，但是當傳資料過來，電腦怎麼知道如何判斷？」是的！就是因為 port 不同！你可以這樣想，有一天，你要去銀行存錢，那個銀行就可以想成是「主機」，然後，銀行當然不可能只有一種業務，裏頭就有相當多的窗口，當你一進大門的時候，在門口的服務人員就會問你說：「嗨！你好！你要做些什麼事？」你跟他說：「我要存錢呀！」，服務員接著就會告訴你：「請前往二號窗口！那邊的人員會幫您服務！」這個時候你總該不會往其他的窗口跑吧！這些窗口就可以想成是「 port 」！所以！每一種服務都有特定的 port 在監聽！所以無須擔心電腦會誤判的問題！

[CS5281] SSI and CGI

SSI is new for me and I just know it is some what like CGI.
As far as I know:

1. SSI require special directives recognized by some Web servers, that mean I have to enable the SSI module in my Apache. (It need some time for me to configure it!)

2. SSI can produce output as part of a Web page like Javascript

3. SSI program is called using an SSI directive in the HTML.

4. SSI does not have access to form elements

I haven't any experience on development of SSI, I am quite confuse that which technology should I use on the coming project.

Start from last year I want to change my site into full CSS and not using frame any more. However , due to my tight schedule I don't have time to finish it. I am trying to join my Samba to Windows ADS and using Winbind on Debian Sarge.
But I still not success and I just want to record the procedure I have done yet.

The following is my procedure:

1. Install Samba, Winbind and Kerberos using apt-get

(I am not sure what kerberos package should be installed, try using apt-cache search)

Important Procedure after installing Linux

Remember to perform the following procedure everytime
installing new linux or modification of Harddisk configuration,
mount info, lilo info:

1. mkbootdisk(under RH or Mandrake) or mkboot (in debian) to make system boot disk
2. try to use that book disk to boot up the system (always put that bootdisk on A: drive)
3. copy lilo.conf, /etc/fstab to safe place
4. fdisk -l (or fdisk -l /dev/hda1) > partition_info.txt
5. label the partition info and mount info onto the computer

Other optional procedures:

1. Always have Live CD (Knoppix, SLX) and "tomsrtb" boot disk on hand
2. record every package installed into the system
3. Reboot the servers every month and using test the bootdisk
4. I will write the fourth procedure tomorrow

Rescue lilo problem

昨天更改了Kernel, 但不幸LILO損壞了,
利用以下方法救機:

Go to Knoppix, download iso image

boot knoppix, type
knoppix 2 (for text mode, not load gui)

after logon

$ su -
$ fdisk -l (to view the filesystem and find which one is the rootsystem drive)
$ mkdir /rootboot (any name you like)
$ mount /dev/sda1 /rootboot

if the filesystem get problems try to use e2fsk to fix disk, if only lilo problem
review the lilo.conf and see whether the kernel image and symbolic links okay
$ chroot /rootboot (change the root to /rootboot)
$ lilo -v -v
$ reboot

信用卡禮品

今日打電話去問信用卡禮品換領中心, 問他們禮品有沒有貨(有的話才到旺角拿),
到達後才發覺人山人海(打蛇餅), 心想這次肯定要等個多小時。幸好, 原來匯豐的
換領處在另一層, 上到去才發覺不是太多人。

這次換了一部手機和一個數碼相機, 不錯啊!

(這些都是銀行吸引人們使用該行信用卡的手法, 想人們消費多一點,而我不過是用信用卡來於百佳買日常用品等, 而且每月必會將費用還清, 不會蝕利息給銀行呢!)

頂唔順換左部機

屋企部機成日死, 成日要reboot幾次先開倒機, 但又有好多文件唔想format,
嬲嬲地買左部新機, 舊嗰部就放係電視機側面, 用部電視當monitor。(部機都買左成4年)

部新機初初無聲, 以為點解自己咁唔好彩, 以為塊底板係壞, 攪左大半日打去維修部,
哥仔問我係咪拿走了某處的jumper, 叫我插番。最終真係jumper的問題!

Home Server Quota Error

我發覺學校個home server唔識行quota, 嘗試關下, 發現
quotaoff: quotactl on /dev/hdb1 [/home]: No such process

試過dpkg-reconfigure, apt-get remove都無用,
唯有再在網上check下,

試過quotacheck -mc /dev/hdb1, 唔得,
最後唯有delete 左個aquota.user,
再行一次quotacheck -mc /dev/hdb1, okay!

於/dev/hdc1那個一樣要咁做, 我懷疑因為前幾日停電, 個file corrput左

但上堂時我經已覺得非常的疲累, 但還要集中精神去聽Lecturer的講解, 身為教書的
我, 很明白Lecturer於課堂上講的每一句說話, 其實都是重要的(唔會好似我一樣, 有時講
廢話)。

返了一整天的工, 又要集中精神, 真的頗辛苦的呢...

從朋友口中知道青衣城開了一間吃法國菜的, 心想到法國時沒有機會吃, 那便試一試吧!

上午打電話去時便得到失望的消息, 店員說他們經已fully-booked, 還說通常要個多星期前訂檯, 星期六更加要早三個星期前予訂, 那我便唯有請他們把放在waiting list之上。

到大約5:45pm左右他們便打電話來, 說有一個近門口的booking cancel了, 問我們會否來, 我當時還身在沙田, 跟他們說最快都要7:00pm左右才能趕來。在停車場等了差不多20分鐘才能泊好車, 趕趕急急地便走到餐廳。\r

常常於雜誌上看到什麼幾百元吃九道, 十道法國菜, 究竟有什麼好吃呢?

這一頓法國賽不能說叫抵吃, 但整體來說也不錯呢!(相比起於歐洲吃的碟頭飯, 香港的物價真的尚算不高啊!)

這間法國餐廳的名稱是 "C'est bon" (以上圖片因為使用了自己的PDA來影的, 又不夠光, 有點兒偏色。)

Excelsior

今天早上要回校開會, 不經不覺暑假已經過去了, 新的一個學年快要來了。

因為要和其中一位同事慶祝生日, 便留在學校工作, 好不容易才等到晚上呢。

這天我們到了Excelsior頂樓的餐廳, 這處的風景著實很美啊!(如果不是有同事有半價票, 我想我不會來呢!)

今天收到一個學生的電郵, 說CIT獲得B級, 真高興啊!
希望來年的學生也能給我這樣的好消息!

另外, 從外國旅行回港後, 今天才到街上走走,
雖然香港有很多為人垢病的地方, 但和外國相比,
總發現香港有很多可愛的地方。

法瑞遊(26/7 - 9/8) - 遇到賊仔!

今天我們到了蒙馬特區, 由於是星期天, 加上下雨的關係, 街上顯得冷冷清清的。走著走著, 竟不自覺地走到「紅磨坊」。

走到有點兒累, 我們便在一間麥當勞買了最便宜的漢堡包和細薯條, 興高彩烈地走上二樓雅, 準備飽餐一頓。

吃著吃著, 我們發覺有兩個法國人在四處找別人吃剩的東西, 渴剩下的汽水, 有些人吃完後想把托盤收拾(外國習慣自己清理檯面, 我們香港人則等人來收拾), 那兩個人便一個箭步跑上那些人, 一手將托盤搶過來, 看看有沒有什麼東西吃。
我們整個過程都吃得不自在, 他們也常常打量我們吃完了沒有, 想不到法國也會有這麼窮的人。

這個時候, 有一個男人捧著裝了幾個漢堡包和一些薯條的托盤, 並帶著兩個小孩上來, 坐在我們的旁邊, 男的因為發現沒有紙巾, 便留下兩個小孩一個人走回樓下去了, 這時, 剛剛的一人便很迅速地走前來, 拿了兩個漢堡包夾在衣服內, 一聲不啍便溜了出去。當男人上來後, 過了大概5~6秒, 他便發覺少了一點東西, 這時我們便告訴他:"We are sorry, someone stole the hamburger and ran away......we can't stop him...", 我們當然覺得有點過意不去, 我們當然可以作出制止, 但著實我們兩個人在外地, 言語又不通, 總之希望他明白吧。男人後來找了經理來投訴, 說了一回兒後經理便拿了兩個漢堡包上來。事件便告一段落, 後來我們跟這個男人談論了一會兒, 他告訴我們他在巴黎居住了十四年, 但亦都說巴黎的治安是不太好, 尤其是紅磨坊這一帶, 他更說他親眼看到有騎電單車光天白日搶了他人的手袋, 更叫我們不要在這區逗留太晚。

聽到他這麼說, 原本打算在這區找間法國菜吃的諗頭也打消了。

法瑞遊(26/7 - 9/8) - 聖米切爾山

今天的旅程真是整個法國之遊最好的呢!為什麼, 因為我們到了被列入世界文化自然遺產之一的「聖米切爾山」(France's Mont St. Michel)!

因為每天只有一班火車的關係, 我們便要一大清早到里昂車站乘搭TGV(留位費每人25Euro, 沒有Euro Pass的話要50Euro), 因為不肯定下車的那個站是否總站, 我便到Ticket Office處問售票的小姐, 看見這小姐樣子也蠻好的, 心想她應該很樂於幫助我吧, 怎知問了兩句, 由於她好像不太懂英文的關係, 她便顯得不耐煩的樣子, 幸好後面排隊的哥哥說自己懂英文, 問我有什麼想問, 然後為我翻譯, 真感激!(最終的答案只是叫我在這個站下車, 根本沒有說是否總站。)

乘搭TGV前要到這些黃色的機器把票確認。

這程火車很多人, 很多位都是有人坐的, 而我們對面則坐了一對日本的情侶, 因為是面對面坐的關係, 故全程都坐得不太舒服。很想早點落車!(為什麼日本人會這麼有錢的呢, 他們上車後便拿出一枝冰凍的可樂, 再加兩個車站難吃的火腿生菜夾麵包-難吃的都要6.5Euro一個, 而我們只淡淡地喝著前幾天買來的礦泉水和香港帶來的太平芝麻餅, 不過都是一番滋味.....)

後記:肉體即使已經毀滅，而傳說卻將永存。這是諾曼第地區主教奧貝的頭蓋骨。傳說，奧貝頭蓋骨上的這個洞是大約1300年前，天使蜜雪兒降臨的證明……蜜雪兒用手指點著奧貝的腦門說：“在那座岩石山上，為我建一座教堂！”於是，大地變成了海洋，岩石山成了一個浮在水面的小島。

法瑞遊(26/7 - 9/8) - 凡爾賽宮

行程是否很悶, 上一天一次看完這麼多的名勝, 身體累死了, 今天決定只去一個地方:凡爾賽宮。

凡爾賽宮原是一個小村落，是路易十三1624年在凡爾賽樹林中造的狩獵宮。1661年，由路易十四改造成一座豪華的王宮。於1689年全部竣工，至今已有300多年歷史

著實凡爾賽宮真的大得離譜, 我們乘單車圍繞了十字水池走了一篇, 沒有很長時間的停頓, 已花了我們半個多小時才走完。

不過環境真的不錯, 有些人在湖中遊船河, 有些人則駕著高爾夫球車遊覽, 不喜歡的話可靜坐在樹下, 湖邊, 又或者乘搭觀光列車, 隨每人心中所想。

今天的確是寫意的一天呢!

今天真忙, 共去了多個地方, 很累啊!

1. 一大早便要到Gare De Lyon (里昂車站)處book位, 有一天要到Mt. Saint Micheal(聖米切爾山)及有一天要離開巴黎到瑞士去, 故此要先預訂火車位。
因我有們有法瑞火車証, 去聖米切爾山要補25Euro, 到瑞士則只需6Euro

2. 今天我們打算去三個地方羅浮宮, 凱旋門及埃菲爾鐵塔, 我們發覺聖母院離羅浮宮不遠, 故先到聖母院。

我們也去過東京, 但鐵塔就是鐵塔, 東京的真的不能和巴黎的比!東京的好殘, 好舊。(價錢好像差不多)

3. 離開鐵塔後大概是7:00pm, 天色仍然明亮(巴黎於9:00pm才天黑), 我們便跳上賽納河的遊船了, 大概9~10Euro(其實行了一整天, 經已很累呢!)

07:30 一到步便要找車到酒店, 這麼早不知搭什麼好, 找了機場的Information問有沒有巴士直達酒店, 但她說巴士要等, 又可能會遇到塞車, 她建議我地搭地鐵, 不過我地幾件行李, 咁拿法都幾辛苦, 係機場仲要先搭架車才可到地鐵站, 我地都無辨法, 諗住落樓下搵架車, 到左另一個Counter, 於是我地又再問D職員搭地鐵定係搭巴士, 佢就指左我地去搭巴士。架車8:20分便到了, 都唔係等好耐。

09:30 架車都行左成個鐘先到, 落車行50步便到酒店, 雖然地鐵都係隔離, 但地鐵要左轉右轉, 始終都係巴士一程過好。

09:45 啱啱好多人check-out, 坐左係間酒店大堂, 唉, 都係唔好提間酒店(Mister Bed City), 一個字:差!("大堂"就係得咁大!)

11:37 不過咁早到又有鬼用, 都唔俾你check-in, 話要12:00noon, 搭了十幾個鐘頭機都以經啤啤夫, 唯有坐係個大堂度等...等...等, 呀! 可以上房啦!

12:00-16:00 Have a rest!

16:15 聽朋友講外國的商店大都好早收, 諗住巴黎都唔例外, 所以決定今晚只去酒店隔離的商場行下, 順便睇下有無野食。

18:00 行左個Supermarket都行左成個幾鐘, 買左D戰利品, 哈哈! 仲有燒雞, 生菜, 番茄, 布冧同頻果汁, 牙膏牙刷, 法包, 總共用左大約11個Euro (1Euro ~ 9.6HKD), 一個麥當勞巨無霸餐都要成7.9Euro, 唔好以為用多左, 成隻燒雞都係3.99Euro, 真係成個行程最好食, 又最底食嗰樣嘢!
